Mary Drennen Boehm (born c. 1953 in Birmingham) is the current District 3 representative on the Birmingham Board of Education.

Mary is the daughter of former Birmingham City Councilor Alan Drennen. She attended the Brooke Hill School in Birmingham and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1978. She taught at Creative Montessori School and worked with the American Red Cross. In 1986 she began working for the Birmingham YWCA, and helped found its daycare program for homeless children.

Boehm joined the Alabama Power Foundation as president in 1989. In 1997 she left to take the same position with the BellSouth Foundation. From 2007 to 2017 she was on the staff of A+ Education Partnership as director of their A+ College Ready initiative.

She was elected to the Birmingham Board of Education in the 2017 Birmingham municipal election. Boehm qualified on June 28, 2021 to run for re-election in the 2021 Birmingham municipal election.

On January 24, 2019 Boehm cast the sole vote against superintendent Lisa Herring's and the review committee's recommendations to deny a charter school license to the organizers of i3 Academy. On January 27, 2020 she was part of a unanimous vote do deny a charter school license to the promoters of Knowledge Unlimited, and was one of three members who voted against the review committee's recommendation, and in favor of granting a license to Magic City Acceptance Academy.

Boehm has served on the boards of Ruffner Mountain Nature Center and Voices for Alabama’s Children. She served on the Mayor’s Task Force on Refugee Resettlement and is an alumna of Leadership Birmingham and Leadership Alabama.
