Alan R. Barasch was born at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham in 1950. He attended Tarrant Elementary School, McElwain School, Ramsay High, Shades Valley High School, Marion Institute, and graduated in the first class at Mountain Brook High School in 1968.
