This is the first known photograph of Birmingham. It taken from the new Jefferson County Courthouse, either in 1873 (during its construction), 1875 (following its completion), or 1878, by photographer A. C. Oxford.
The photograph is in the William H. Brantley Collection at the Samford University Library (link).
Another print, without the labels, is part of the same collection. (link)
