In addition to the annual festival, Sidewalk programmed "Sidewalk Salon" discussion groups, monthly "Sidewalk Cinematheque" screenings, bi-annual "Sidewalk Scramble" weekend filmmaking competitions, and the "[[Birmingham Shout]]" gay and lesbian film festival.
The 6th annual festival took place September 23-26 in 7 venues. The jury included Eric Campos from ''Film Threat'' magazine, Gill Holland, Don Myrick, Peter Gilbert, Lucia Small, Gabe Wardell, Skizz Cyzyk, Steve Montal, [[Michael Grady]], and [[Daniel Wallace]].

The Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival is an annual film festival, started in 1999 by Erik Jambor, Kelly Franklin and Wayne Franklin.

In addition to the annual festival, Sidewalk programmed "Sidewalk Salon" discussion groups, monthly "Sidewalk Cinematheque" screenings, bi-annual "Sidewalk Scramble" weekend filmmaking competitions, and the "Birmingham Shout" gay and lesbian film festival.
