Bessemer Road is a continuation of 3rd Avenue West westward from Border Street in Birmingham's West End neighborhood toward Bessemer. It becomes the Bessemer Super Highway as it crosses Aaron Aronov Drive (Weibel Drive) and B. Y. Williams Sr Drive at Western Hills Mall in Midfield.
Bessemer Road is part of U.S. Highway 11 and Alabama State Highway 5.
