U.S. Highway 280 (Inverness), also called the 280 Corridor or 280 business district, is a name given to the commercially-developed 3-1/3 mile stretch of U.S. Highway 280 between I-459 and The Narrows" including portions in Birmingham, Hoover, and unincorporated Shelby County. The majority of the road is a six-lane, split highway.

Although commonly referenced as Inverness, the section adjoins not only the Inverness subdivision, but also the Grandview, Meadowbrook, and Greystone subdivisions. The southeastern portion of the developed area traverses Little Oak Mountain, Oak Mountain and Double Oak Mountain.
