Steel's Ensley Works in 1936 as the Iron and Steel Worker's Credit Union. Since then it has grown to a full-service financial institution with over $700 million in assets and 18 branch locations.
The company's distinctive headquarters building was once well-known for its bright orange color. It has since been re-clad in warm gray. A four-story extension was added to the building in 2018.
It received a community charter from the National Credit Union Administration in 2005.
