Ride the Line
Ride the Line was the name of the bus service provided by the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) for persons attending the 2022 World Games. The service ran from July 7 through July 17, 2022, along five separate routes radiating out from The Hub at The Plaza adjacent to Protective Stadium with 20-30 minute headways. The service was announced on May 23, 2022 as a partnership between the The World Games 2022, the City of Birmingham and the BJCTA, and fares were not charged to ride the service.
The buses were all wrapped in World Games themed vinyl, and each featured a radio or video screen with a welcome message from Randall Woodfin. The routes were designed to take spectators from remote parking areas to the various facilities utilized as venues for the World Games throughout Birmingham.
