The air sports competition at the 2022 World Games took place on July 9, July 10, and July 11 with the canopy piloting event held at Barber Motorsports Park and the drone racing event held at Protective Stadium. Canopy piloting has been an event since the 2005 World Games in Duisburg, Germany, and the Birmingham edition marked the fifth time it was included as a regular event at the World Games. The drone racing event was the first for a World Games competition. Drone racing was originally to be held at Barber Motorsports Park, but in February 2022 it was announced the competition would instead be held at Protective Stadium.
