The 1907 Iron Bowl was played at the Alabama State Fairgrounds in Birmingham on November 16, 1907. The final matchup between Alabama and Auburn for 41 years ended in a 6-6 tie.
Cancellation of the series

However, the records show that a squabble of the amount each school would recieve for playing the game was the root of the cancellation. For the 1907 game, each team received a $2 lodging and meal allowance for 17 players each. On January 23, 1908, Auburn's coach Thomas Bragg sent Alabama's coach J. W. Pollard a proposal asking for $3.50 per day for 22 men each. Alabama offered $3 per day for 20 men each. Since an agreement could not be made over a difference of $34, the game was cancelled, not to return again until 1948.
