1895 Iron Bowl

The 1895 Iron Bowl was played on November 23, 1895 for the first time in Tuscaloosa. Auburn handed defeat to Alabama by a score of 48-0. Alabama's head coach John Heisman was in his first year on the job. Little is known about the game, with only a brief accounts of the game in newspapers in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Montgomery. The matchup took a short hiatus, returning in 1900 in Montgomery.
