- 2002: Regions Bank purchased Brookhollow National Bank of Dallas.
- 1993: The helicopter carrying Davey Allison and Red Farmer crashed at Talladega Superspeedway. Allison died the next day.
- 1988: Roosevelt City residents voted 718-404 to be annexed into Birmingham.
- 1987: The Chestnut Hill Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
