The UAB Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 2009 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the UAB Blazers athletics program. The Class of 2009 was inducted at the October 1 football game against Southern Miss. A banquet was held the following night at The Club.

Initially classes were inducted every four years. The frequency was amended to every two years beginning in 2018.
