- This article is about the Southside Birmingham street. For the Homewood street, see 19th Street South Homewood.
19th Street South is a north-south street in Birmingham's Five Points South neighborhood. The street begins at the southern end of 19th Street North at the Railroad Reservation and the 19th Street underpass. From there continues south for 16 blocks, intersecting the UAB campus, to where it intersects with 15th Court South at the base of Red Mountain. It then takes a turn to the southwest and extends one block to a dead end at Valley View Park.
The road is four or five lanes wide from the 19th Street underpass down to 10th Avenue South, at which point it becomes a two-lane road.
