The Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage is a designation for buildings, sites, structures, objects, and districts at least 40 years old and deemed worthy of preservation by the Alabama Historical Commission. The properties can be of significance on a national, state, or local level. The designation is honorary and carries no restrictions or financial incentives.
